The Woodlands is a master planned community nestled 32 short miles north of Houston developed in 1974 by George Mitchell. It once was a small sleepy suburb known for its lush green spaces, golf courses, high ranking schools and easy way of life.   Apparently, someone leaked that little known best kept secret.  Now, the community home to many major corporations such as Schlumberger, Chevron Phillips, Oxy Chem (aka Anadarko Petroleum) and Baker Hughes just to name a few.

Enjoy the afternoon shopping at Woodlands Mall, hop on over to the Woodlands Waterway and hop on a waterway cruiser (similar to the San Antonio Riverwalk version of a water taxi) to enjoy many of the restaurants that now align the waterway.  Or if a shopping in a traditional mall isn’t your idea of a fun afternoon, consider Market Street, an old world style pedestrian shopping district lined with several restaurants, a grocery store and even a movie theatre.  Or if you happen to enjoy the great outdoors and hitting little white balls with a piece of iron is your cup of tea, you’ll be amazed when you discover the seven golf courses around The Woodlands.

You’ll discover neighborhoods are called villages and the The Woodlands is referred to as a township. Along every inch of the community you’ll notice walking and biking trails aligning the residential streets allowing for residents to enjoy the outdoors without having to compete with traffic.
